When you are young, you don’t think about getting old or dying. Those are ideas which just don’t seem to be pondered. Then as you start into your childhood you begin to understand. Perhaps it is a family member who dies and you confront your first funeral. You may not fully understand what is happening but as the years go by, you hear about more old people dying.

Later in life you see people younger than you die as death comes to both old and young.

Just in today’s news, it is reported that both Margaret Thatcher and Annette Funicello have died. Add that to the recent passing of Roger Ebert and the all too soon death expected of Valerie Harper.

The deaths you hear about most often are those where the person was a celebrity of some sort, and they will get the most press. Yet just the other day a teenager was killed on the next road over as he lost control as a moped and ran into the rocks.

You just never know which was the seesaw will tilt next.
