Yesterday I took one of the Labradoodles to the airport to be shipped to his new owner on Oahu. He is a cute boy and usually quiet, but after just over 8 weeks being constantly around brother, sisters and humans, I washed him, dried him and put him in a dog carrier (crate) and headed to the airport. He is still a very small puppy, yet appears to have developed that “puppy howl” that reminds you these guys have mostly wolf DNA. You cannot believe a sound like that can come from a puppy! He settled down some 20 minutes later and only made some more noise at the cargo area of Hawaiian Airlines, where he was outside and there were loud plane noises. He arrived in Oahu soon thereafter and his new owner is thrilled! I took a few photos of him before he left. He is the apricot one in the back.

I am flying from the Big Island over to Oahu (Honolulu) for an ultrasound. My doctor thinks they have better skills there I guess that at the local hospital. Hey, I can’t complain as from the p[lane I’ll be able to see most of the neighbor islands (except Kauai and Ni`ihau) which are further west from Oahu and will be on the other side of the plane from where I” be sitting. When going from Kona to Oahu it is better to sit on the right side of the plane as we pass south of the other islands. I don’t know if I’ll get any phone photos taken but perhaps I’ll try. There is some cloud cover here, but Honolulu is a 45 minute flight away and any kind of weather can be inbetween.

I found someone to help me move my tractor and mower into town on Friday. I should clean it up some before then too as it looks as though I have been using it. The local tractor sales and rental place is all but out of business, no neighbors had trailers big enough for the tractor and even Uhaul didn’t rent them. They did say I might be able to rent one in Hilo, but a 90 mile drive back and forth for a rental was not going to happen!

My last trip into the orchard showed some grapefruit, lemons, limes and clementines growing and will be ripe in the next few months. I also have some miracle berry again, abd although I saw flowering on the acerola, no fruit yet. The leaves have been attacked and I have to keep spraying the trees until they get taller.

That is all for now as I need to get breakfast and head to the airport.
