A number of blogs ago, I mentioned the IMDB (Internet Movie Data Base) and how George Reeves (TV’s Superman) was in Gone With The Wind. The story can now be told that Gone With The Wind, Superman and Andy Griffith’s Mayberry share common grounds.

I won’t go into my own discussion, but I found a website with photos to help you understand.

Scenes from Superman and Mayberry were filmed at the old RKO Pathe back lot, affectionately known as “Forty Acres”. Many classics ranging from Gone With The Wind to Gomer Pyle, USMC were filmed there too.

The website (jimnolt.com/fortyacres1.htm) show many photos from both series so you can compare.

George also filmed his part in GWTW there a decade earlier.
