Its is funny how we remember certain things, flashes of memories, some having major impact on our lives and others representing just a feeling.

Many people remember where they were and what they were doing when man landed on the moon, or 9-11 or so on. Then there are the times that may not be so dramatic. I remember a particular spot on a beach in Point Pleasant NJ. Perhaps it was because I fell asleep there and got badly sunburned, or maybe it was something else, but I do rememgber that particular spot on the beach where I spent many a summer.

I also remember my Grandmothers house which was over top of my Fathers office. I remember my great-grandmother would make ice cream sodas with Dads root beer and vanilla ice cream. I also remember she loved neopolitan ice crean (vanilla-chocolate-strawberry).

Enough of those mundane memories though. What I really remember and is the idea behind this blog entry is this; often when I woyuld visit, there was an apple pie, freshly made and sitting in the pantry cooling off. That apple pie with the ice cream was the best memory I have of that house.

The ability to experience something and remember it is amazing.

Unfortunately, as I write this, I hear yet anoth coqui frog in the yard. Remember them from previous blogs? Well I hope that by tomorrow night this one will be a distant memory!
