Crying over spilt milk
Last night on the news I heard some depressing news.
Most of our milk in Hawaii comes from the mainland. It may be as old as 30 days from cow to shelf! How is that possible?
Well, to ship milk here, it is pasteurized, shipped here under 45 degrees and then repasteurized before ending up on the shelf. It seems the milk often goes nad prior to the expiration date.
It’s enough to make you cry, isn’t it?
