It Boggles The Mind

It had parts missing, one of the jump seats in the back was missing, etc. If you can’t trust a used car dealer to tell you the truth, who can you trust?

Secondly, some friends came to the island and invited me to lunch at the resort. The Fairmont Orchid is the furthest resort from my house, but I had a project I needed to work on up that way, so no big deal on the drive. I just felt so sorry for my friends though. I got the hamburger and fries and iced tea for $25. This was the outside cafe with a great view and a very enjoyable time reminiscing. I am just too cheap to go to a place like that on my own. The rooms start at $449 a night. I remember one trip to Hawaii after 9-11 that I left the mainland terminal only to find that the Inter-island one was closed for a few hours. It would have been better to go get a hotel room off property, but I decided to spend 6 or 8 hours lying outside on a concrete bench. It was odd seeing the military guys walk past me with rifles and so on, while the overhead announcement kept blaring “Do not leave your luggage unattended”… The last thing on my mind was that someone would steal it or get into it!

The third mind boggle is that if I do the math correctly, I am now a Great-GrandUncle. My sisters daughter had a number of sons. One of whom just had a son. I feel very old and am coming to the realization that I may also be a Great-Great-GrandUncle before too many more years. Maybe this won’t sound so bad if I can calculate it in metric!
