The Heart Of The Matter

7 years ago, I underwent a quadruple bypass. I still remember it like it was , well, 2560 days ago (or so)
There is a slight drawback to the operation (and I don’t mean having to eat less bacon). It seems when they added the bypasses to my heart they moved it a bit more forward in the chest. That plus the increase in blood flow causes me to feel the heart pump more than I did before. I am not complaining, because having the heart pumping is a good thing, but when sit still or lie down just right, my eyes detect a slight movement of my head as each heartbeat happens.
So I really do feel each heartbeat and it constantly reminds me of Edgar Allen Poe’s The Tell-tale Heart.
