Instead I looked at the sellers rating which was 100% for 6 votes; not great but for $30 and free shipping, I was willing to take a chance. The fax has minor cosmetic scratches and no ink cartridge, which is easily fixed.

I got a notice that the item was shipped and started looking for ink. That is when I found that the printer was recalled last year as it might be a fire hazard! OOPS!

It appears the company has offered a rebate towards the purchase of a new machine. If the seller has sold me the machine without knowing about the recall, I will get the rebate and buy a new machine. If the seller already got a rebate check, then they need to refund my money and they are out the cost of shipping. Ebay rules specify that you may not knowingly sell an item that has a recall for it. This was a nationwide recall for safety. It should be noted that on Ebay there are a number of other machines of the same model for sale. In any event, I’ll notify Ebay and they should have the machines pulled from sale. SIGH!

Then today I went into Costco and grabbed some bagels (you get 2 packages) and THOUGHT I bought cream cheese for them. When I got home (22 miles later) I found I now own 3 pounds of sour cream instead. While I do use sour cream, it is usually mixed with onion soup mix and used as a dip for potato chips (neither of which I have at the moment).

SIGH!
