On July 15th there will be a celebration of sorts in Hawaii. No, not because Twinkies hit the shelves, rather because of the phenomenon which can only be celebrated in America in Hawaii. A Celebration named after a town in Hawaii, Lahaina. That event is Lahaina Noon, when the sun is directly overhead and buildings and flagpoles cast no shadow.

Only between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn can this event occur.
