My Mom says that here dog will head to the bedroom at 9pm, encouraging her to go to bed also.

My dogs get restless at the same time each day because they know I feed them then. A few minutes later I will hear O`Lena (Oh lay nah) make a short little bark while Koa (ko ah) is just sitting there quiet. When I open the gate on the lanai O`Lena will pick up a toy in her mouth and back away from the gate. Koa will come inside and I will have to play a short game of keep away to get O`Lena inside. Koa will settle next to the bed, but O`Lena will jump up to take a prominent place on the bed.

In the morning Koa will stand near the bed, make a little whimper and if I am not getting up, he will take a step backwards towards the door and whimper again. If I ignore him too long (and he gets too near the door) he will jump up on the bed, then gets down and starts the process again.

After a quick bathroom break outside, they come up and I will put them on the lanai for a while. At this point, I am awake and usually get on the computer for a while. Soon, one of the two dogs will start to bark quietly and I have to bring them in so as not to wake the neighbors. Did I mention Koa seems to want to get up at 5 or 6am? Yeah!

They will sleep on the bed for a while before going back out on the lanai later in the morning.

Koa often sleeps on the floor at night but on the lanai, likes the dog pillow out there. O`Lena likes the bed but on the lanai seems to curl up in a corner with her feet up in the air. Oh well, as long as they are happy.

Both dogs seem to know when I am getting ready to take one of them for a ride in the truck. O`Lena specifically will jump up at the drivers door, scratching the paint. When I have to take both dogs somewhere, I put a traveling crate in the back bed of the truck and O`Lena will jump up to get in. Koa usually travels in the passenger seat where he can sit and watch the road. I have a photo of him there nonchalantly sitting with his right paw on the windowsill.
