Aromas

First the coffee blossoms on the trees came into bloom. We call that “Kona Snow” due to the look it gives the trees. You wake up one morning and all of the coffee trees have a whits blossom on them looking like a light snowfall happened over night. https://itskona.com/photos/displayimage.php?album=13&pos=6

Then there are the mango trees which bloom and start forming mangos. It is a completely different smell from the cherry.

Then there are the macadamia nut trees which blossom about the same time, and of course have a completely seperate smell.

In and amongst those blooms are the aromas of plumeria plants (which we make leis from), various flowers and trees. We have fruit trees like oranges, but I don’t know when they bloom.

Ever present this time of year is the wafting smells of roasting coffee beans. It seems more obvious right after harvest, but coffee is roasted pretty much year round; whether at a large roasting facility or someone with a small roaster on their farm.

The aromas and smells here certainly make it a very interesting place.
