One type of diabetes is caused or exasperated by a sedimentary lifestyle, that is sitting around rather than walking, etc. It is also caused by bad eating habits. Here in America we have a lot of junk food and compared to many other countries, fairly cheap and plentiful food supplies.

That food is easily transported across the country because we have an efficient Interstate Highway system. The Interstate system allows people and food to be moved long distances in a short period of time.

So how did the Interstate Highway system come to be? General Eisenhower pushed it, not to transport food but to make it easy to transport military personnel and equipment across the country in times of war.
