Fireworks

I’ll be working Saturday and will need to head home before the fireworks. Koa will be all alone and I don’t want him scared incase the neighbors shoot off lots of firecrackers.

From my farm, I can see a very wide area and many people have aerial displays I can see for free.

Travel and Leisure Magazine has a list of the 10 best fireworks displays in the country. Boston, Mt. Rushmore, Washington DC, New York and Philadelphia are in the top 10. If you have not seen them, you might be surprised to see that Oahu is in the top 10! Yes, Hawaii made the list!

Common here are firework sales in supermarkets and Wal-Mart. It’s not just for the 4th because we have many cultures for whom fireworks are an important part.

As we celebrate our independence, we also display the American flag. Here in Hawaii, while a territory, King Kamehameha decided to create his own flag; a combination of two counties he respected; the United States and, well, the United Kingdom… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Hawaii
