SIGH! I already had him scheduled for a $700 stud fee and he would have been able to command up t o$1500 for each “date” I sent him on. I have not yet told him, and I’m sure he won’t understand in any event :-)

If I decide to get another breeding dog, I can count some of the costs for Koa off as deductions for my kennel and breeding business. Koa has a website at http://konalabradors.com. he also has a Youtube video of him eating raw chicken.

Since my friend (and fellow Labrador breeder) has been recovering from surgery, I have gone to her farm each day and fed, cleaned up after, and run the dogs for excercise. This has gone on since before Christmas and it is almost time for her to take over most of the activities. I have a lot of things to do on the farm and need the extra time here. I’ll write about the farm items later (if you are still following that part of the saga).

We continue to see some store closing here, yet also see some openings (like Ultimate Burger in Kona). I think the economy has turned and the rest of this year will prove it. When the economy turned “south”, people were let go from their jobs (me included) and began to look for work. Some of the ones who were able to accept a lower wage found employment because people like me still needed work done and looked for cheaper labor. I spent tens of thousands of dollars last year on the farm and looked for every deal I could find. I also was let go from my job and it looks as though I will not be going back. That is a long but interesting story which will remain untold until I am sure that I will not be rehired. You never want to burn a bridge until you are sure that you are fully on the other side.

I received an offer for $100 worth of Google AdWords and have signed up. I am ready to advertise my coffee on Google Ads but as I started to enable the ads I noticed that the photos of my coffee bags do not look very professional. I may take some time today to dummy up a bag or two for the ads. I have some nice red bags that would look nice for a Valentines day ad.

Gotta run for now. Aloha.
