Flying Puppies

I have another puppy that I am awaiting final payment and that puppy (another dramatic drum roll) is going to Kauai!

Tomorrow, I have a family coming to visit a black male they are buying and I will keep until September 3rd. They want to ensure he is larger because they have another dog already and want them to be closer in size. That pup will stay on the Big Island.

Also on Friday, a woman is coming to pick up her pup and take it (as luggage) to Oahu.

We use Hawaiian Air because they are the only airline carrying live animals. They will allow you to carry a pet onboard (interisland) if it is in a soft kennel and will fit under the seat. They also will not allow you to remove the pet from the carrier anywhere within the airport or onboard a flight. I don’t know if that is cheaper than shipping cargo or a carryon fee if you are on the same flight. Our interisland flights are generally 45 minutes to an hour long and that seems to include takeoff and landing times, etc.

Sometime this weekend I hope to relocate myself and mom and the remaining pups to my farm. It has a bad 4-wheel driveway and that is why I didn’t want lots of people driving down there.

I just got a call from the woman on Kauai that the two pups I shipped this morning arrived fine and are happy to be playing with each other again. They are brother and sister.

Just a few more pups to sell and then I can settle down with the remaining pups awaiting pickup.

It was just a little over 8 weeks ago they were born. How time (and puppy) flies!
