Getting Ready

I have returned to farm duties, albeit slowly. Yesterday I started mowing with the tractor and will continue that today.

I am also getting ready to open the website store again, but will do that with trepidation. Because I cannot lift the heavy coffee bags, I’ll have to do things in smaller increments.

The green coffee is in 100 pound burlap bags and I’ll have to transfer some to a smaller bag so I can go get the coffee roasted. As for roasting, I will have a small problem. Not wanting to keep roasted coffee around for long, I have it roasted in somewhat small batches. Before Christmas I had orders for both medium and dark roasts so had them both on hand. Because I cannot anticipate which roast people will be ordering, I may have to stagger the website so that I offer dark until it is almost out then switch to medium and so on.

Some neighbors only offer one roast and I may decide to settle on a roast between medium and dark. Time (and orders) will tell.
