Experts told us that most previous recessions had been a year long and that this one was worse, but still would probably last less than 2 years, reguardless of who was President. It lasted 18 months. That does not mean that everything is back to normal, but the downward spiral reversed and things are looking better.

As you might expect, when times got tough and people were not getting paid as much, they eventually were willing to work for less. For many having problems paying bills, debts were forgiven as companies cut their profits and the whole economy seesawed down. It was a “correction” if you will, people getting less money, people paying less. These corrections happen often enough and this was worse.

Now I read that the Senate is considering a bill to crack down on online piracy. It appears they feel that we citizens are stealing music, television shows and movies. Hmmm, they must have forgotten or are resting on their laurels having already cracked down on pirated software or worse still, MONEY! We are bombarded daily with schemes and hacks and attacks to steal what little money we have. Whare is THAT law and if there is a good one in place, WHY IS IT NOT WORKING TO STOP THE PROBLEM?

It reminds me of a corrupt town where people steal from people and rob the banks and the police are looking for people littering.

Speaking of looking back, I wish I had it all to do over again laying out the farm and deciding where to plant things. In any event, by October 31st I’ll be fully planted with coffee and fruit trees.

In the meantime, I am taking advantage of some downtime and looking back, that is a good thing :-)
