I’m watching the Australian gardening show and an episode talked about creating a tropical garden in a cool and dry climate. They showed philodendrons, monsteria, fan palms, bougainvillaea, orchids and hibiscus. Even though I don’t live in the tropics (its sub-tropical), I have all of these items on my property or very nearby. In fact, some of the items like bougainvillaea are more like a weed because it grows quickly and spreads out.

Hey, I’m not complaining mind you, I love the color and it’s not like I need to do anything to any of these things. I have my hands full with things I HAVE planted!
