Hula is a religious performance usually dedicated to a god or goddess and was banned by missionaries. It all but disappeared but was secretly performed and continued in spite of modern religion.

Sunday there is a feed of highlights of 2010 and 2011 performances. This is a great time to tune in and get an idea of what will be shown later this week.

Then Wednesday through Saturday will be live feeds of this years competition. Hula tells a story and there wiill be tories about hula. One item sure to bring tears is the story of the death of renowned kumu hula O’Brian Eselu this week.

Go here (http://www.k5thehometeam.com/) for more info and the live feed. One year I was able to take the output feed from my laptop and run it to my big screen TV. It was like being there.
