Turnout at my local polling place was very light so far and I expect it to be light this year because of the hurricanes (one just past and one due tomorrow).

As I drove the couple miles to the church where we vote, I noticed the house on the street just below me. I was happy to see that they had put plywood over their large windows just as I had. It turns out that we didn’t need to do that in our neighborhood (hindsight) but the need to replace a broken sliding door or bay window far exceeds the work and cost to protect it in the first place. I am just glad to know that I was not the only person in the neighborhood to overly prepare.
