For the first time since the Beach Boys played on the National Mall in DC in 1984, I will attend a concert. Oh, I have been to a music event or two since then, but not a concert of epic proportions.

So this morning when I heard that Chicago would be coming to my island, I HAD to get tickets. The venue is out doors up in Waikoloa and there is what appears to be a small area with chairs that were premium seats. Instead I opted to be part of the general population who sit on blankets just behind those in chairs. In any event, the seats will be VERY CLOSE to the stage, I am estimating within 50 to 100 feet.

I thought the Kama’aina price of about $50 was reasonable. The premium chairs were $100.

It is not unheard of to get name bands in Hawaii and sometimes even on my island, but usually it is a holiday concert and more expensive.
