When I lived in Georgia, our office was at the end of Dobbins AFB runway and we would watch C-17’s come in low and heavy, right towards our windows.

Recently, Kailua-Kona held an airshow and I believe that the Hawaii National Guard had a C-17 there and I had been onboard. I have to review my photos with the ones in the news items in the press. It may have been the same plane and crew that was here!

Congratulations t othem for their quick action and help in an unfortunate situation.

Flash back now to the 1970’s or 1980’s I was on the Fantome, a tall 4-masted ship in the Barefoot Cruise Windjammer series. This was interesting considering it is not difficult to get me seasick. Still, it was a wonderful week and I was ready to sail again. Sadly, that ship was lost in Hurricane Mitch and because quite famous for its bout with the storm.
