We were in a drought all year and about 1/3 our normal rainfall.

Last night we got rain in Captain Cook and in Kealakekua they had like 2 inches of rain an hour.

I got a call from a friend closer to Kona that she was getting torrential rain and it was coming in horizontally. The story can now be told…

Up in town there is a guy who does car repairs. He has a condo/office overlooking the ocean and runs a website called KonaFriends. He has a webcam on his balcony which you can control (the webcam, HE controls the balcony). Today he was sitting there when the storm came and ran and got his camera.

In the photos you will see a giant waterspout (a tornado over the ocean). At the end, you also see Paul Allen’s boat. Some people mistake his boat for a cruise ship

I am fine, got a bunch of rain and played with my water tanks today.

By the way, the condo where I USED to work are exactly between the camera and the waterspout, right at the ocean. You can’t see them for the condos in between, but I would have had a great view of this
