I have been playing with the PBX again and have worked out most of the things I wanted. telemarketers get sidelined and I don’t hear from them a second time. In fact, telemarketers are now put into an endless queue where they have elevator music playing and an announcement that comes up every 30 seconds saying that they are the next caller. They will be the next caller until they hang up or I reboot the machine!

I have GoogleVoice enabled for free long distance, which seems to work quite well. Google won’t let me choose the outbound Caller-ID, so those cals now show they are coming from Florida and not Hawaii. Google is one of many companies which will give you a telephone number for free, it just won’t be in Hawaii. Life is rough in the middle of the Pacific!

I have multiple inbound telephone numbers routed to the same phone, yet can change that in a minute. If I wanted the number my Mom usually calls in on to ring in my bedroom, I could.

As I mentioned before, all the software is free, I just needed a computer to run it on. The system I am currently using is a home-brew, many years old. The operating system is Centos, a unix variety.

Today I went up to Sandras for dinner and Joslyn was there too. We havd a great dinner and yes, that included turkey and the ever present corn!

Koa and O`lena had been there yesterday for a trial run and today got to run and swim with the other dogs. O`Lena is just 7 month old and Koa is 3 years and 7 months. How they have grown!

I took some photos of them playing in the pool and also took some videos, but I will have to download end edit them and see if any are worth displaying.

I wished for a cheap PC and was offered one (if I want to stay up all night to get it) and I hope that someone out there will take pity on me and stand in line for me.

However, I don’t blame anyone who doesn’t :-)

Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving Day. I missd the big macy’s Day Parade, however…

***SPOILER ALERT***

Santa shows up at the end!
