Hiccups

Many years ago after dental surgery I got the hiccups and they lasted for days and days. Finally a friend (a doctor) suggested that if the home remedies did not work, there was always Thorazine or other strong medicines.

There are cases of people with hiccups lasting years and one poor fellow had them for decades, and just after he was cured, he died.

The doc suggsted a home remedy that worked for me, where none of the others did. It was a spoon full of sugar on the back of the tongue, let it dry there and try to swallow as best as you can. You may cough once and it is a weird feeling, but has worked for me every time. It seems the sugar scratches the back of the throat and inturrups the signals from the diaphragm to the brain (or some such thing). Anyway it has worked for every one I have told about it.

Yes, I know there are many remedies and they work for some people, and each has their favorite. This is mine.

WAIT! Maybe I have a new one, a piping hot cup of 100% Kona Coffee. I should start thet suggestion as a cure!
