When we pick coffee cherry, we have to pulp it quickly. Imagine a cherry where you take the skin off and keep the pit. To do this we use a drum with what looks like a band of cheese grater. When I have pulped the cherry here on the farm, I have turned the unit by hand. I purchased a motor made to attach to this pulper and found I paid a premium to get it. Shoot! Still, it will save me lots of time and a bit of money by doing the work myself.

I used some old 2 by 4’s I had here and bought a few bolts today to attach things together. By noon tomorrow I hope to test it out.
