Normally I would not be excited to have them inspect, however this is the culmination of many years of work. I have the plants in and all the coffee and fruit trees have been weeded. The farm has never looked as good before and I hope can continue to look good from here on out.

Yesterday and today I weedwacked all the fruit trees and sprayed the trees to keep insects off them.

Sunday evening I will be attending the Kona Coffee Farmers Association banquet which is held at the end of Kona Coffee Festival Week. There is an auction and I have been asked to be the auctioneer again. I will do my best to avoid telling any jokes as I have done in the past.

One year I needed to get the audiences attention. The announcment started out as “May I have your attention please. The Greyhound through bus for New Orleans is now boarding…”. That used to be a very often repeated announcement when I was in High School and awaiting my own bus to go home.

Although I was never an auctioneer before, I listened to them often during the Public TV production we created in Richmond and Annandale Virginia, called the Great TV Auction where we would auction items off over the air. For about 12 years I helped as an on-air announcer for the items on the tables.

The reason I agreed to help again is not because I crave the limelight. It is because they are offering me a dinner ticket for an all-I-can-eat buffet!

I wonder if I can line my pants pockets with baggies? I would love to take a ton of food home. Would that be crass?
