Not A Great Day Yesterday
Not a great day!
I went to the beach with my worker and I was taking a photo of him in an area with rocks and a tidal pool. A rogue wave came and before I could get my camera above me, I was in salt water up to my shoulders and was also unable to turn the phone off quickly.
I dried it as best as I could without being able to open it (it has very small torx screws). It does not turn on now and the phone does not draw any current from the charger. I believe the battery has a water detection fuse.
So I bought the Moto G4 phone outright for $220 at Costco a year ago and did not get the service contract. This is the first time having a cellphone which I have ruined so no need to pay hundreds to protect them.
I ordered a set of torx drivers and opted to get the next phone from Amazon. There will be ads on the initial screen but it saves me $50.
If I can get the old phone fixed, I’ll sell it. In the meantime, I resurrected my old Samsung G5 by putting in the SIM card.
Delivery time for the new cellphone could take up to a couple of weeks.
By the way, the worker lost a tennis shoe. At least neither of us was injured, just my pride.
