The Accused

I have been accused of not posting much lately. I plead guilty!

I have been working both farms and am pretty worn out. Even taking a day off is tiresome.

I have my worker Jonathan helping weed whack and hired a guy to do some tree cutting under the power lines. He may have damaged the telephone line, however no problem since I don’t use landline telephone.

I have many bags of coffee parchment from Gary’s farm and a bag of my own. I’ll get it milled son and can then offer both roasted and green coffee to customers.

Jonathan bought a moped a few months ago and rode it for a bit before it stopped. I helped look at it and tested a few things but came up blank. We took it to a moped rental place where the guy worked on it. He just got it back yesterday and rode it home. This means that I can sleep late most mornings now. He has a weekday job in Holualoa and has to be there at 7am. I would get up at 5:30am and check my mail and so on. At 6am I would call him to make sure he was awake. I would then drive over there and at 6:20 or so, wake him up again. Grrrr! We would leave at 6:30 or 6:40 and get to his job site at 7am. The rest of the people come in at 7:20 or so. Still, I told him that I will have him there when he is supposed to be there. Let the latecomers know that he is punctual at least! In the next week or so he will leave the Big Island and head to Oahu where a caregiver position await him. I’ll have to find a new worker soon.

In my spare time I binge-watches “Shameless” (the U.S. version). Then it was back to finish the last season of “Gold Rush Alaska”. I’m not sure what I’ll watch next.

I found a leak that drained 3 of my water tanks. That means I watered weeds to the tune of 60,000 gallons!

I believe that the overflow tube started to siphon the water out as I saw a slow trickle for a while but figured that the tanks were full and as the daytime temperature rose, the water expanded and leaked a bit. It seems I was wrong. With my pump broken (to the tune of $1,000) I will have to use county water to get a couple inches in the bottom of the tanks so that the weight will hold the bottom liners in place.

These are the three that are now empty. They hold 20,000 gallons each and are about 8′ tall.
