I ended up in town (the part that wasn’t crowded) at Lowes buying plywood and roofing to make a drying deck for the coffee.

I had been following a runners progress online (the only person whose name I knew) and was tempted to stop down to the finish line to cheer him on. Unfortunately, it got late and the dogs needed to go out, so Southward I headed.

Although last nights episode was filmed in advance, it would have been fun to stop by the race and see chef Gordon Ramsay finish the race. I PM’ed him and mentioned that just by entering the race, he beat me!

Gordon is far from an early favorite, yet it takes a lot of work to qualify for this race, guts to enter it and stamina to even finish. he has about 4 miles left to run and they estimate he will finish in about an hour. I can imagine how he and the other participants feel. The race: Swim 2.4 miles! Bike 112 miles! Run 26.2 miles. So he is at the end, 4 miles to go and hoping they don’t move the finish line on him.

One unfortunate problem, I heard a participant had his bike stolen. I hope they get it back for him.

To all the participants, I hope that you enjoyed your time in Kona and your participation in the race. Now go home and brag!
