Waiting For Godot

Thus while we await Tuesdays arrival and departure of the planel Venus across th face of the sun, what could we possibly do in the intrim?

Well how about a partial lunar eclips tonight? Yup, we here will have an opportunity to see the shadow of the earth cover part of the moon.

A couple of weeks ago we had Lahina Noon where the sun is directly overhead. We are about halfway between the two Lahina Noon events here on the Big Island.

If we had been born centuries ago we might have cause for concern, but cooler heads prevail.

So lets review, we have a time when the sun casts no shadow, an earthquake, the moon is partially obscured, then a black spot crosses the sun. Meanwhile we have frogs taking over the neighborhood.

There is more, but we have no worries since the Mayan calendar ends soon and they must know something we don’t.

So we wait for Godot. (The non-obvious pun is, Venus will look like a black DOT and it will GO across the sun. GO DOT GO!)
